Allan & Madeline: A Destination Elopement | Zoetry Agua Punta Cana | Dominican Republic Wedding Photographer
If you can’t tell, destination elopements and weddings are officially becoming one of my favorite things to photograph. Yes, it sounds like a dream and believe me, it is… but it’s not my favorite thing because its a vacation. For me, a destination wedding and/or elopement provides much more than that, it embodies & represents a unique connection between the couple I’m there for.
I first met Allan & Madeline during their waterfall engagement session (see it here) and let me tell you what, great impressions were made by all of us! The story of their engagement session was memorable to say the least but their wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic was literally breathtaking. At first it was a thought thrown in conversation and I didn’t realize they would want me to travel to the Dominican Republic with them until we signed the contract and it was set in stone. At that point, it became real and I still didn’t know what was in store for us. Before I get into the good stuff though, let me catch you up on a couple of things!
Allan has sensitivity to the sunlight so those sunglasses were important, but boy was he willing to take them off when I needed him to for pictures!
Madline’s smile is infectious… and so is her laughter.
These two taught me how to match pitch (and now I try it with most of my couples)
Allan killed it with Madeline’s ring… I mean, it’s the biggest ring I’ve ever seen!
They are super trusting! I say dance under a waterfall & they did it. I directed them to meander through the seaweed & they did it. I asked them to jump in the pool & ocean… and THEY DID IT! YES, they did it but that’s an entirely different blog to come! So yes, they are super trusting!
Accompanied by perfect weather, their destination elopement could not have been better. Madeline wore a gorgeous Halo by Hayley Paige designer wedding dress and Allan complimented her with a comfy navy blue linen suit with splashes of coral in his details. They started their Punta Cana elopement festivities with a secluded first look, followed by vows on the beach surrounded by 18 people they call family & friends and partied the night away in one of the restaurants on the resort. Although we weren’t the only people at Zoetry Agua Punta Cana, it sure felt like it! We had the beach to ourselves, the pool to ourselves and the restaurant to ourselves all day! Being in paradise in one thing but starting your forever with your best friend is a paradise all in itself. Congratulations Allan & Madeline on starting your marriage journey in one of the prettiest places on Earth! Your beach wedding at Zoetry Agua Punta Cana was to die for and I say we do it again!
