Kyle & Madison: A Sunset Mountaintop Engagement | Virginia Wedding Photographer
They were late by over 30 minutes. I couldn’t get ahold of them, I waited. I called a friend for advice and I waited. I watched the sun crawl up the mountains as it set and waited… and I almost left.
BUT, sometimes the best things are worth waiting for and this was one of those times! After finally getting in touch with Kyle & Madison through spotty cell phone service, we dominated their sunset engagement session in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains! Immediately when they arrived, they got out of their car, rapidly changed clothes and gracefully followed every direction I gave them no questions asked. I am still in awe of how wonderful their photos turned out! Mind you, we had never met before so imagine me yelling directions at clients so they can hear me over the wind - that is trust you guys! Kyle & Madison pushed my creative limits, kept me on my toes the entire time and I honestly don’t think it could have turned out better. Them showing up later than planned worked out well because we started with a little harsh light and ended with the prettiest blue hour I’ve ever photographed. I thought it was going to be a disaster, but this session speaks for what I want to create - a magnetic experience. When you can’t stop looking. When you get entangled in their laughter.
Things happen, life gets hectic and GPS takes us the wrong way. It just goes to show that love is patient & understanding. Kyle & Madison pushed aside their stress & frustration and snuggled effortlessly in front of those rolling ridges for me. The Blue Ridge Mountains amaze me every day but these moments in particular still have me smiling involuntarily. Her dress, their giggles, those deep blues, the amount of ridges we could count. We could not have had a better experience! This gorgeous couple ties the knot in North Carolina in September 2019 and I’m not trying to wish life away but man is it going to be gorgeous!
