I don’t often take pictures of families anymore but when I do, it’s for the people I love. I met Jordan 12 years ago in college and over the years, have seen her life change in so many ways. From a single independent woman joining the navy, to now a wife & mother!

Through life, she has always ceased to amaze me but witnessing this side of her is unlike any other. She is full of happiness and love. She has always had a purpose but motherhood, motherhood looks so good on her. Having traveled all over the US with her family, her home has always been in Botetourt. So when she requested to have family photos in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the best place to capture it was close to home!

Through social media, I’ve gotten to follow her journey and get to know Nathan and her kiddos from afar but in person, it was completely different. I got to see personalities firsthand, hear giggles I haven’t heard before and see a love so true that no amount of social media can exude. Every Virginia family photographer works differently, but my favorite thing to capture are definitely the candid moments. Those in between moments that aren’t posed, staged or forced. The raw moments that you will laugh at for years to come!
