Gus & Allyson: A Waterfall Couple's Session in the Appalachian Mountains | Virginia Photographer
There's nothing quite as calming as driving down the interstate, watching the grass flying back and listening to your tunes on Pandora after being quarantined for so long! Until.... you are so late to your photo session at a gorgeous Virginia waterfall in the Appalachian Mountains because you get lost in the woods with no cell service and no way to find your clients!
Thankfully, it all worked out and Gus, Allyson and myself had this hidden Virginia waterfall near Shenandoah National Park all to ourselves for their couple's session until we ran out of light!! Being an adventure photographer, there are no limits and these two accepting all the challenges I threw them! It's safe to say my clients are THE BEST and this is by far the best way to practice social distancing, especially with their professions!
Couples Sessions in Shenandoah National Park
I have to be honest, it’s hard for me to pull myself away most times I’m photographing. I love to create diversity and truly encapsulate the landscape that surrounds my couples. From waterfalls and mountains to cityscapes and skylines. For this sweet couple, we had the best location! Having never been to this spot before, I really couldn’t stop myself. This Virginia waterfall had several levels and pools, making each outfit not only diverse but I often forgot we needed to change I was that far into the zone!
There’s nothing like jumping into a Virginia Waterfall!
After finding each other by chance, we packed our stuff and started hiking to the waterfall. Virginia is full of little hidden gems but this one, so close to Shenandoah National Park, was like walking through the wardrobe and entering into Narnia! The beauty of being alone in the Appalachian Mountains surrounded us and the rush of the water took heightened our sense of adventure! By the end of our shoot, we decided to hop in the water and finish our session off on a jaw dropping note…. and boy did we!
