This couple right here is one I’ve had the privilege of photographing through all walks of their marriage journey! Alex first contacted me when he wanted to take his then girlfriend Breanna on a hike just off the Blue Ridge Parkway to propose with that jaw dropping view of the Blue Ridge Mountains behind them! He was so nervous that we actually met several times beforehand to go over the details and secure our plan. After only a couple of weeks had passed since their Sharp Top proposal, Alex & Breanna reached out to me again wanting to hire me as their adventure photographer for their Virginia wedding! With bursts of happiness, I of course hit the ground running talking wedding details with them and started planning their engagement session.

GUYS… when I say we had an absolute blast, we had an ABSOLUTE blast! Their sunrise engagement session in the Blue Ridge Mountains was totally worth the early morning wake up call! I know it sounds crazy but given the option of a sunrise session versus a sunset session, I’ll choose a sunrise session time and time again. Don’t get me wrong, sunsets are stunning but watching the sun rise over each ridge and the sky change from purple to pink to yellow sitting on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains gives me butterflies.

We started off the Blue Ridge Parkway with a sunrise that wouldn’t disappoint. It was a CHILLY start to their May morning so they snuggled A LOT. However, as the sun climbed, Breanna swung off her jacket for a fresh new look and we hiked down to the river gorge to give their engagement photos some diversity! Dressed to the nines, these two made their way to and fro on those jagged rocks to get as close as they could to the water. To end our time together for their engagement session, we dipped our toes in the water (except for Alex because nice shoes…) and we snacked on their homemade trail mix.

These two are naturals. Not only because they had been in front of my camera before but their intimate and adventurous connection is evident. Fun fact, the day we photographed their engagement session was their 6 year anniversary of being a couple. SIX YEARS! They celebrated by picking up a cake on their way home and napped. These two were made for each other and I’m so honored to be their adventure photographer!
