Peter & Halley: A Big Spring Farm Wedding in April | Barn Wedding venue
Big Spring Farm | April Wedding | Barn Wedding Venue
Let’s have a barn wedding, but make it classy!
With Peter & Halley’s wedding day, everything was perfect. The night before their wedding, we all gathered at The Patton Room at The Georges for their rehearsal dinner where they welcomed ALL their guests for drinks to start the festivities. Talk about a way to start the weekend! The Patton Room was full of hugs, chitter chatter smiles and that only continued into the following day. With positivity surrounding them, Halley was beaming bright with wedding day bliss and that light poured over to Peter. From the moment they booked me, I knew their day was going to be one I’ll never forget but this was solidified when I received a thank you note with a watercolor painting of Big Spring Farm on it BEFORE their big day. I mean, mail that isn’t a bill is great in general but mail that pretty… it deserves it’s moment! I’m not going to just brag about it and not show you. Halley packed several copies of their stationary suite for me to photograph with their wedding details and I have to say, this is by far one of the best flay lays I have every photographed! All the pretty details, most full of sentimental and momentous value. It was a photographer’s dream!
But of course, perfect only lasts but so long. They shared a first kiss & celebrated with a champagne tower, everyone enjoyed oysters during cocktail hour, we powered through photos and everything ran smoothly until it was time to start the reception. Our timeline was off, the reception hadn't started yet, the couple needed to eat dinner and.... the clouds were rolling in as the sun went down. The time we had scheduled for sunset portraits had passed and all that gorgeous glowing light they had for their April wedding was practically gone. But... I still wanted more time with Peter & Halley to see what we could create and I'm SO glad they trusted me. We enjoyed the light we had and maximized the views of their barn wedding and then hopped on the golf cart to go back into the reception.
UNTIL... I saw one of the buses barreling down the gravel driveway, stirring up the dust and immediately yelled something along the lines of "GET OF THE CART, COME ON RUN RUN RUN, hold hands, look at each other and run" to capture their money shot. The unforgettable image that would not have happened if our timeline had not been off, had we not waited on the couple to eat dinner and if that bus had not come at that exact moment. From that moment on, it was party mode and what a party it was! Not only did they have a live band perform but they were insane!
Moral of the story, not everything goes accordingly to plan on wedding day but everything works out for a reason because in the end, Halley & Peter were married and their guests will never forget their wedding day! So run off into the sunset together lovers, because this is what marriage is, a race through time together! Congratulations Peter & Halley, the best is yet to come!

LOOK. AT. THESE. DETAILS.
Now this is a trend I can jump on… the champagne tower was one of my favorite parts of their wedding day and from the looks of Halley’s smile, I’d say it was one of her favorites too! Nothing better than a Veuve Clicquot moment!
