Wyatt & Carly: A Destination Wedding at Bungalows Key Largo | Florida Wedding Photographer
Bungalows Key Largo | Destination Wedding | Florida Wedding Photographer | NFL Wedding
Four, three, two, one!
Not only an excellent number for a countdown to a wedding but an even better wedding date! April 3rd, 2021, the day Wyatt & Carly said I do privately in front of 30 of their friends and family. With lots of boundaries surrounding their wedding planning, these two were crunched on when and where they could get married. From the pandemic still restraining numbers to football season schedules, I do believe their intimate NFL wedding was nothing short of perfection.
Having dated and breaking up for a bit while Wyatt was playing for the Buffalo Bills, it’s crazy how these two got back on course and survived a long-distance relationship until they could be together in Cleveland where he now plays for the Browns. Though Carly traveled back and forth from Virginia, she managed to only miss one of eight home games before Wyatt decided to pop the question back in 2020. If you haven’t seen the video on their proposal, let me tell you what… this man loves this woman so freaking much and it shows (on both ends). He managed to sneak her onto the field & surprise her with a slideshow of pictures of them and have their proposal captured from all over the stadium as he knelt down on one knee and popped the question. The sheer excitement from this moment followed into their wedding & now their marriage!
Their destination wedding was full of light colors & bright laughter. They chose Bungalows Key Largo in Florida to host their families for several reasons but one being, it was all inclusive and in the US versus international. Easy access for family, the least amount of chaos for family & friends when it came to accommodations, travel & such and that gorgeous Keys view right outside their doors. I started the day by meeting Wyatt with a big ol hug and for those who have never met Wyatt or myself, he’s a very BIG man and I’m a very SHORT woman. Not only did I feel like I was being hugged by the nicest grizzly bear in human form but this man was in his bathing suit… literally 2 hours before he said I DO! It was hilarious. I had to put my wedding cap on & tell him to go get ready because before we knew it, it was game time (pun intended)! While the boys got ready, I spent time with Carly & her squad, popping champagne, getting dressed, taking some JAW DROPPING bridal photos & doing a first look with her sweet Dad. The special moments on their wedding day continued to add up. With this naturally gorgeous couple promising each other forever, their seaside ceremony could not have been prettier. Truly, tell me something prettier than their ceremony, I dare you (other pictures from their day do not count). Because while I’m swooning over all of their portraits, we rushed through those in nearly 10 minutes because we had to hop on their cocktail cruise before they left us and Carly still had to change into her second dress! Yes, all those photos of the these two were taken in 10 minutes.
I very rarely work with people who know what to do in front of the camera but Wyatt & Carly DEFINITELY knew what they were doing so in this instance, teamwork definitely made the dream work! But don’t be fooled… I did make them grab a bike to play around with because why not?! Ended up that Carly’s dress got caught in the bike and that created some memories of it’s own but what a freaking blast we had! By then, we were ready to party! So we jumped on their cocktail cruise and set sail… Everyone was having a blast, snacking, drinking, snuggling and wiping their windblown hair out of their faces for pictures left and right. The cocktail cruise was definitely something I would recommend if you’re having a destination wedding, 1000%! As we watched the sun set from the boat, we noticed dinner time was closing in. We grabbed a couple more pictures and then went to Sea Seńors for the rest of night. More mingling, dinner, cake cutting, dancing to put an end to the most perfect day.
Already knowing Carly & her past, I knew there was something to this Wyatt Teller fella. I’m not one for rooting on a specific NFL team so I didn’t know quite know who he was but being a Hokie fan, I knew the name and I knew he played for a pretty good college so that spoke for something. Little did I know how much I would fall in love with them as a couple, their shared faith and getting to know their families & friends more. That was a the truest blessing of them all, not just showing up to be their Florida wedding photographer for a day, but getting to know them on a deeper level. Wyatt pointed out how much he loves Carly’s heart and the way she is to everyone she meets, warm & caring. Carly described Wyatt as an angel and a man with a heart of gold. Together, the are literally the perfect pair, both inside and out. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Teller!

Creating special moments like this, especially during a destination wedding, are my favorite! So who did it better? Wyatt Teller, the tough football guard for the Cleveland Browns or his dazzling bride Carly Whiting Teller?
OUTFIT CHANGE!! For the first time ever, I had a bride display not one but TWO dresses on her wedding day! Carly is all about fashion (as she should be, she’s a freaking model) and having two dresses for her wedding day was one of the things she really wanted! One for formality and one for partying and I couldn’t imagine their day without both of these wedding dresses! Her first dress truly was the dreamy wedding look we all envisioned her in but that second dress… that second dress was a show stopper! Fun, flirty and flowing. All the right things to have when you’re sailing on a boat tour for your cocktail hour & spending an evening with your friends at an all inclusive resort! Ugh, moments like this make me want to be a Florida wedding photographer for life. These views and experiences are like no other!
