When I talk about traveling to photograph adventure and destination, my prime example couple leads back to Micah and Amber. Their journey into marriage has embraced me and taken me from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, to the low country of Georgia and one of the best Arizona National Parks. To capture their elopement close to Sedona Arizona to the fullest, we spent some time the day before their elopement at Saguaro National Park and at Picture Rocks AZ.
Fun fact about Micah & Amber, they decided to elope on their private property which touches this gorgeous desert mountain view of Saguaro National Park. That’s right, all those cacti and this majestic view was the perfect spot to elope in Arizona and it belongs to them! It’s crazy how easily this Tucson elopement experience looks like a Sedona elopement, so we decided to have some fun with it!
We started at their property, about 15 minutes from downtown Tucson Arizona with them snuggling amongst the saguaro cacti and modeling a vibrant blue Jeep! Afterwards, we wandered to Picture Rocks AZ where we climbed rocks, imagined we saw a mountain lion and meandered through the wash that swallowed us whole. It was surreal! Every rock had a different story and a different feature, but it all fit together as if it were one jagged puzzle. To finish our desert engagement session, we traveled back to their property to witness a famous Arizona sunset. Talk about breathtaking! After watching those speckled Arizona mountains catch fire as the sun went down, it hit me, Arizona is one of my happy places.
Since Micah & Amber decided to elope in Arizona, that’s all I can think about. I’m being 100% transparent when I saw this sweet couple has changed my life. They introduced to their favorite kind of music and it’s all I listen to (Ray LaMontagne, Lord Huron, The Lumineers, Van Morrison, etc), they’ve accepted me into their lives like family, they’ve trusted me with their most important moments in life and I crave these Arizona landscapes they’ve shared with me. So my goal going forward is to photograph more Sedona elopements! Enough with my blabbing… scroll down!
Fun fact, this is at the edge of their property. Behind them is legit Saguaro National Park. They plan to build a house here one day and will have A NATIONAL PARK as their backyard! Don’t worry, they will be following every guideline to protect this land when they build.
The wash… for those who don’t know (because I didn’t), this is where all the water goes when it rains in the desert. Most times, this area floods when it rains and washes out and will even flood roads for hours!
Adventurous & loving couple, check. Perfect desert landscape, check. Vibrant Jeep, check.

This specific shot of these saguaro beauties was photographed on their private property during our engagement session, near an Arizona National Park! I’m not much of a landscape photographer but I found a new piece of myself out there in the desert.
