Ross & Loran: A Fearrington Village Wedding | Wedding Venues in NC | North Carolina Photographer
North Carolina Photographer | Fearrington Village Wedding | Wedding Venues in NC
Two years ago, Ross & Loran asked me to photograph the best day of their lives (up until that point) in the Appalachian Mountains and I immediately started looking for places to elope in Virginia! Having known of Loran through my previous job, we both knew we had a similar vision and were eager to see what was in store! Little did I know their elopement/intimate wedding would be SO much better than I expected!
Shortly after we started planning, things started shifting. First, they had to change their date. Then, they had to switch their location to North Carolina! Lastly, they decided to wanted to share this moment with their immediate family for an intimate Fearrington Village wedding versus a private North Carolina elopement.
With a happy heart and a blank canvas in circulating in mind, I traveled down to North Carolina to witness Ross & Loran say their vows and smear lipgloss like all newlyweds should! On top of all the gorgeous details they incorporated into their day, I can truly say that walking through Fearrington Village was like walking through a town you only see in movies or read about in books. It was surreal and the PERFECT venue in North Carolina for a small intimate wedding!
They started their Fearrington Village wedding off right with a first look, accompanied only by their sweet pup Aria before having their private ceremony in the back garden. Surrounded by only their immediate family and officiated by Ross’s step-mom, they shared tears, laughter and of course, their first kiss as husband and wife! We timed their family portraits out perfectly so we could get those glowing couples photos everyone dreams of! The little kid inside of me squealed with excitement as I witnessed Ross & Loran not only snuggled under that veil as if no one was watching but because that gorgeous bouquet truly was a statement against Fearrington’s lush backdrop and before we knew it, we were running behind for their dinner! To finish the night, the shared conversations over light music, enjoyed a delicious meal together, cut their little wedding cake and Loran surprised Ross with a grooms cake of his own… a tiramisu in the shape of the Batman symbol. I could go on and on about this sweet couple but the best part is, this WAS the happiest day of their lives until now… because in a few weeks, they will welcome their sweet baby girl into the world!
